This episode of the Popperian Podcast features an interview that Jed Lea-Henry conducted with Michael Munger. They speak about James Buchanan and Gordon Tullock‘s book The Calculus of Consent: Logical Foundations of Constitutional Democracy, and how it is that rational individuals agree to be coerced by consenting to the rules which define their political system.
Michael Munger is a professor of economics and political science, and former department chair of political science, at Duke University. His research interests include the study of ideology, legislative institutions, elections, and public policy, especially campaign finance. Michael received his PhD in economics from Washington University in St. Louis in 1984, and authored, co-authored and coedited multiple books.
